Conversation is never thin when Betty, whom you can meet in my novel Escape from Assisted Living, and her friends Ardyce, Irene, or Mabel get together. Right now they’re between hands of bridge debating the wisdom of the proverb “A son’s a son until he finds a wife. A daughter’s a daughter all of her life.”
