Next Generation Indie Book Award Finalist 2023

Finalist, Indie Fiction, 12th Annual Book of the Year, Chicago Writers Association, 2022

Writing can be a lonely pursuit––Will anyone ever read my book? Being a finalist in 2023 Next Generation Indie Book Awards makes me feel part of a community. My novel Unexpected Guests at Black Bird Lodge looks great with the gold seal! This sets me working on my next book. Thank you to all involved from judging to the great celebration at the Newberry Library in Chicago. Sipping champagne, talking to other book people, and going to the stage was very exciting. This is my second time as a finalist, my first at the ceremony. I’m still warmed by talking to people who had read my book.
